Now is the time to start thinking about spring cleaning. As spring rolls around we start getting the desire to open the windows and let the house get some fresh air. It is also a great time to take everything out of the house and do an xtreme cleaning, get all the things cleaned that made you crazy all winter but it was to cold to do. There is just something about the freshness of a house that is clean and has spring fresh air flowing through it.

We will start with why house cleaning is important. Have you ever been in a house that smelled or had bugs crawling everywhere? Or maybe you are currently battling this problem. Keeping your home clean is the first step in getting rid of the bugs and smell. If you are not willing to do a little house cleaning it will always be a battle trying to keep the bugs and smell under control. The best approach I have found to get rid of bugs is to use bug bombs followed by an intense cleaning of the entire house and then use a spray around walls inside and out and other areas that were infested. Of course if you prefer you can call an exterminator to do this for you but you can usually get better results doing it yourself with items purchased at your local hardware store or Wal-Mart. The important thing is to get it done! Not just halfway, but commit several days to totally destroying the habitat for bugs. Once you have wiped them out spray your home a couple times a year to keep them out.

Now lets’ start cleaning; get a plan; a goal of what you want to accomplish. If it is a large task like the whole house is trashed, break it down into rooms or even half a room and start there. Make yourself stay focused in this area until it is completed, then move to the next part. Start with the removing the big stuff and work down to the small cleanup. Like a room has clothes scattered everywhere start with hanging, folding, and putting the dirty clothes in the laundry room or wherever you keep dirty clothes (not throwed on the floor)! Pick up all the trash and get it out of the room, now you can see the floor hopefully, now you can pick up and put away anything else that does not belong on the floor (no the bologna sandwich does not belong on the floor)! Once everything is out of the floor you can vacuum or sweep whichever is required for your floors. If it is something other than carpet once it has been swept use a mop with a disinfectant like pine sol. If you have carpet try a powder cleaner or get a steam cleaner you need to make sure this is cleaned well, carpet makes a great hiding place for bugs and allergens. Myself I like pine sol or Mr. Clean they both do a good job and leave the place clean. If it is an area bleach won’t harm, use it. Bleach will kill just about any germ in your home. If all this is to much hire a cleaning service to help you. There are several listed on this page.

House cleaning is a daily job. If you will spend a few minutes each day cleaning up after yourself and a few hours each month doing an in depth cleaning it should not get so overwhelming. The big thing is take a minute to put things where it belongs, like that bologna sandwich you did not finish, put it in the trash, give it to the dog, or at least throw it outside and some critter will eat it, but do not put it on the floor. Food on the floor, counters, tables, etc. is asking for the bugs to move into your home; especially sweet stuff like sugar that will draw ants from your neighbors’ house! I do not know how they find this stuff, but they do! The best way to stop them is to clean up after yourself!

Crime Scene Cleanup: When the most unimaginable thing happens to a loved one, this is who we turn to. It is very unfortunate that today we cannot even trust the people in this profession. There have been many crime scene cleanup companies that take advantage of the customer in this time of need by charging $10,000 plus for a job that could be done for a fraction of the cost. One of the things to look for; are they local not just providing service to your area. Many of them offer nationwide coverage but they do so by charging an outrageous amount, so they can fly to where the crime scene is at. Buy the equipment needed to do the job and fly back home. That is a big expense that gets passed onto you the customer. Most reputable cleaners will have all their equipment in a truck and will not take jobs they cannot drive to in a reasonable time. Instead they will refer you to someone in your area so that you can get this tragedy behind you and move on with your life.

Your vehicle is one of the largest investments that you will make in your lifetime; it should be taken care of and protected. Just as important as keeping your car’s exterior clean, having a clean interior is an essential part of up keep and preventive maintenance. A filthy interior not only smells and looks bad, but it can also create or contribute to operational and electrical problems. This is where auto detailing comes in to help save you money This is much more than just a car wash.

Auto detailing can eliminate dirty air vents that can spread dust and other allergens throughout the vehicle making your allergies worse, and making you more vulnerable to getting sick. Filmy windows and mirrors can obscure your view of the road creating a hazard. Dirt and grime can work their way inside cracks and buttons causing them to no longer be operational, when this happens did you really save anything by not taking your car to an auto detail shop or detailing it yourself? Going to a car wash is great just to clean the outside between detailing your car.

Auto detailing is just as the name implies, you pay attention to all the little details. It is strenuous and meticulous cleaning, going beyond simply dusting the dash and picking up large loose debris. While many people take their cars to professional auto detailers, often paying more than excess of $150, it can be done by yourself given the right knowledge and auto detailing supplies. Interior cleaning consist of removing trash, vacuuming, cleaning, protecting and dressing to give that final professional auto detail shop look.

You are probably reading this right now because you are tired of spending thousands of dollars a year to auto detail shops to keep your vehicle looking immaculate or maybe you want to start an auto detailing business, or you’re tired of paying all the money for a poor job. No matter the reason I will show you how to properly clean and detail the interior and exterior of your vehicle. You must remember the reason the cost is so high to have a professional auto detailer detail your car is because it really is tedious work. You must go above and beyond the average car wash paying attention to the slightest detail in order to get the look that you so much desire.

Steps to properly cleaning and detailing your vehicles interior

Remove Trash: First remove all trash, small and large; you don’t want to have anything lodged into your vacuum damaging it.

Vacuuming: First, you will need a vacuum with an extension hose and several attachments. I always like to work from top to bottom, so that way all the dirt and dust particles fall down. You don’t want dirt and dust falling on your already cleaned seats and floors causing an even bigger mess. Vacuum all the areas including under the seats and in the trunk, removing all floor mats, so you can vacuum all areas. Also, don’t forget to vacuum the floor mats. Use the crevice tool to get into all of the hard to reach areas like between and under the seats, visors, etc… You can also use an air compressor to help blow dirt out of areas that the vacuum nozzle cannot reach or fit. Use the floor brush when vacuuming the carpet. Move the seats forward or backward to reach areas under the seat. If the flooring needs a good cleaning, I would recommend removing the seats to have complete access.

Cleaning: You may purchase auto detailing supplies at your local hardware store that will allow you to get the look you desire. I recommend products by Maguire’s, Auto magic etc…

Carpet Cleaning – I always use a hot water extractor to get the carpets as clean as possible as the professional auto detail shops do. I understand not everyone has or can afford a hot water extractor. All you need is a wet and dry vac, a scrub brush and a pre spot cleaner. Then spray the cleaner directly on the area to be cleaned and allow it to penetrate the carpet. Next you want to agitate the spot using the scrub brush. This will break up the dirt particles and after scrubbing the carpet you should vacuum the spot sucking up all the dirt that you have loosened. Next just pat the area with a dry towel. Be sure to test your cleaner in an area not seen to make sure there is no discoloring etc…

Vinyl & Leather – Wipe down all the vinyl and leather with your choice of cleaner your local auto parts store will have all the auto detailing supplies you will need. You may also use saddle soap, or another mild leather soap on a damp cloth and rub it softly onto all leather areas.

Cloth upholstery – If you’re not using a steam cleaner, use spray-on upholstery cleaner and work it in with a soft brush and let it dry, according to directions.

Glass & Windshield – Use glass cleaner to wash the inside of windows. Spray the cleaner directly on a clean cloth, then wash the window, to avoid streaking. Note: If you have tinted windows do not use cleaner with ammonia, this will cause your tint to become discolored, crack or bubble.

Hard surfaces – Purchase an interior cleaner to get the remaining dirt on your dashboard, rubber door moldings and interior trim. Again, spray the cleaner directly on a clean cloth. Then clean tight areas such as air vents, panel seams, and radio buttons with a dampened soft toothbrush or a cotton swab.

Conditioning – After cleaning and allowing to dry, leather can be treated with conditioner. This is very important to help restore the leather and to keep it from cracking and fading.

Re-vacuuming – You should vacuum one final time to remove any access dirt and dust that has came loose during the cleaning process. Now stand back and admire your auto detailing experience.
–>

An xtreme clean, cleaning job done right is the absence of dirt, including dust, stains, bad smells, grease, and garbage. Purposes of cleanliness include health, beauty, absence of offensive odor, avoidance of shame, and to avoid the spreading of dirt and contaminants to oneself and others. Steam cleaners do a great job of getting loose dirt and smells out of carpet, leaving a much cleaner carpet than just a vacuum. In the case of glass objects such as windows or windshields, the purpose can also be transparency that could be considered a safety issue if they are not clean. Washing is one way of cleaning, usually with water and often some kind of soap or detergent. In more recent times, since the germ theory of disease, it has also come to mean an absence of germs and other hazardous materials. However, dirt may play a useful role in our immune systems. This shift in thinking can be traced back to 1989, when David Strachan put forth the “hygiene hypothesis” in the British Medical Journal. Strachan looked at the records of 17,000 British children and found that the greater number of older siblings they had, the less likely they were to come down with hay fever—a disease which, despite its name, is far more common in the city than the country. Strachan wondered if the older children were bringing home more viral infections to their younger siblings, priming their immune systems so they could better tolerate pollen.
